Mark set up New Era boxing in 2011 after recognising the lack of boxing clubs within the area. New Era boxing is now firmly established in the area and Mark now is working on extending the club beyond its current capacity with the support of the clubs partners. Mark oversees all of the coaching at the club and works in partnership with Tom Bunby (See below) to develop outside activities, competition and development of the club. Mark also runs schools sessions and boxing projects locally and has worked with numerous students through education programmes.
Glyn joined the club in 2011 and has since then been a major part of preparing members to develop their skills, tactics and fitness to be able to their very best.
Working across both Junior and Senior sessions, Steve has previous experience within professional boxing whilst working as an inspector for the British boxing board of control. Steve joined the club in 2013 and has developed his strength and conditioning knowledge. Steve works closely with individuals leading up to competition and ensure that they are in the best physical condition possible.
Joining the club in 2013, Tom initially enjoyed training within the club sessions and improving his knowledge of boxing skills. Tom then soon started to help at the clubs boxing tournaments and events and before long attended an England boxing coaching course. Since then Tom has developed a ‘Train and talk’ mental health awareness sessions and helps new members with joining the club.
New Era community boxing is a club that welcomes and ages and experience levels at the club. We work with every member to guide and support them in a positive training environment. Please feel free to visit or contact the club to see what you can offer.
